Leawood border collie is about to get her national close-up. The 5-year-old dog, Skylar, has beat out hundreds of other canines in national contests, and she will soon appear on network television. A stray dog with a collar embedded in its neck is recovering after being rescued. It appears that the puppy, named Wally, had a piece of rope around its neck for months and as the dog grew in size, the animal’s skin grew up and over the rope, causing a festering wound. “After seeing his condition, it was obvious he needed medical attention right away,” said Jennifer Shive with Spay and…
