My favorite Youkai from Japanese mythology , as you might have guessed from my screenname, is the Kamaitachi, or "sickle weasel". While my close second favorite beastie, the Kitsune, have had many anime and manga devoted to them [notably Naruto] kamaitachi have had comparatively few starring roles.
